An interview with Étienne Calsac
-
Tell us about your estate and winery.
I founded the winery in 2010. My family was not into wine, but since I had the chance of getting back some vineyards, I decided to start, even from scratch. This is something really unusual here in Champagne.
-
What is the style of your wines?
Our champagne are essentially blanc de blancs, from the Côte des Blancs, whose main features are precision and freshness, counterbalanced with a good minerality and elegance.
-
Past, Present and Future
I write my future every day. Our property evolves, we are creating new blends and wines. This is an endless creative job, but I must admit, I love experimenting and creating new cuvées.
-
Something about yourself?
I hate sliced almonds on my "île flottante". In other words: I love simplicity and transparency.
-
What are you the most proud of?
My children.
